I did it!!!!

I have officially won the "Lose your Can with the Canman" weight loss contest. I lost a total of 14lbs, 4.75 inches, was able to do 10 more push-ups (though I think my form was kinda bad towards the end) and 6 more sit-ups.

My next challenge will be a Nutrition class through Havertape Chiropractic. I start that on August 11th and it is an 8 week course/challenge. I am hoping to win that one also, but I'll just have to see how my body responds.

I am surprised at how well I did today also at school. Yes, I went back to school today for a SCR work day. One of the teachers brought a big bag of M&M's into our work session, and I ate none of them. I am so proud of myself for that accomplishment.

Goals for tomorrow are: log food and drink 8 glasses of water
I also want to get in some sort of exercise. Since I won't be able to run on Saturday I am thinking of starting Week 3 of my Couch to 5K, but may postpone my first run of the week until Monday.

Saw a post on a a Nest Board that was titled, what are you proud of? I decided I would try it and see if I can come up with a list of things.

What am I proud of:

- losing 16lbs so far in the past 12 weeks
- continuing to lose weight regardless of what's going on
- bouncing back from gaining weight on our anniversary trip
- starting a Couch to 5K program
- I completed my first week of Couch to 5K.
- signing up to run 2 5K's in October
- I ate zucchini, squash, and mushrooms
- I actually liked the grilled veggies!
- skating for 2.5 hours, then completing a C25K run, and going walking with my sister all in one day!
- motivating my husband and his mom to start running
- also convincing Danielle, Katie, and Nathan to complete a 5 K with me. (extra motivation- can't let them down)

That's all I can think of right now.

Still to go tonight: dinner, softball and maybe a walk around the block.

I really need to start some from of strength training so that I can start losing more inches as well as more pounds. I think I may run over to my parents and get my Jillian DVDs to start those again with my running. Or complete more of my Wii. Hey- maybe while Peter is absorbed into his train game tomorrow I can get a Wii workout in.

So yesterday was pretty bad. I didn't get any workout in and I kinda didn't eat very well. Today however was a great day. I went skating for 3 hours- actually skating for 2 1/2 hours of that time. Then I went for my Couch to 5K run today. Got a little faster, but not too bad. Start week 2 on Saturday. So excited about that! Then I went walking with Becky. Can someone tell me why she spends the time walking and exercising when she precedes and follows it with a cigarette? Really, what's the point?

Today's food I haven't logged yet, but I will as soon as I am done blogging here. It hasn't been too good, but I think I will be ok with my calories.

However, on my run today I figured out what my goal reward will be when I complete my first 5K. I am going to buy myself a Fossil purse. I saw Stormy's last night and I really liked it. However, it's a lot more than I have ever spent on a hand bag. So that's my reward. Not only will I be lighter and healthier, but I will get my purse. Until then I can use the purses I still have.

I have also decided to not try the Dr. Snead's diet that Danielle is on. Don't get me wrong, but with trying to get pregnant I need to worry more about eating healthy foods than eating 400 calories a day. I need to worry about being healthy instead of losing the weight fast. Maybe after we have our first kid, if I can't lose the weight I will consider calling the doctor.

I haven't weighed in this week because I am worried about what the numbers will say. Not because I haven't been making good choices, but because it's that time of the month and I just feel crappy. Nothing is fitting very well today, so I am hoping that it will be better tomorrow.

Goals for tomorrow: some strength training activity and log my food.

Couch to 5K: Day 2

Just finished day 2 of my couch to 5K. Feeling great! I ended my run with 1/2 mile to go to home. Which is less than last time. I am taking that to mean that I am getting faster! Yay! Go me! I followed the route that I did last time. I am also doing good on my goal of tracking my calories today. I am sitting at around 700 calories going into dinner. I really need to work on spreading my calories out better, but right now I am just going to focus on staying under my calorie limit.

Tomorrow I already have scheduled a walk with my sister and maybe going to get some strength training in. I really need to work on building my wimpy muscles underneath my flab.

Goals for tomorrow: go for walk with Becky, complete some sort of strength training exercise (probably EA Active workout), and log my food intake.

Goals for Wednesday: log my water intake and complete my last Couch to 5K workout this week!

Route 2

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2998756

Here is my other route for the Couch to 5K run. It is a little shorter than my other one, but a nice walk overall. I may have to lengthen the route if I start to get faster.

Today

Well today hasn't been too bad of a day. I haven't gotten much exercise in, but I did a lot of running at softball tonight. I made it to 3rd base twice and would have made it home both times if they hadn't caught Ryan's hit. Oh well. I am still contemplating getting up and completing an EA Active Wii workout, but I am really tired.

Goals for tomorrow are: log my food intake, complete my second Couch to 5K workout, and get up before 10 am. Oh yeah, I need to get a hair cut tomorrow also.

I am determined to run the Especially for You Breast Cancer 5K Race. This will be my greatest accomplishment! I think it will even beat graduating from college because this is something that is challenging. I didn't really challenge myself in college; I just accepted what I needed to do and did it. I didn't push myself. Running a 5K is a push for me. I am determined to do this! I will have to think of a great reward for myself when I accomplish this!

Tonight's workout

Completed a 2.3661 mile walk in 44.3 minutes. That means I did a 18.7 minute mile. I ran about a 1/2 mile on the way back. Next time I think I am going to walk a 1/2, run a 1/2. I wonder if I can get my time down to a 15 minute mile?

Also, while running I think I decided on a new goal for me. I am going to run the 5K breast cancer walk in October. This is going to take a lot of work and running/walking, but I think I can do it. I think I am going to ask Danielle if she is up to the challenge.

Here's my route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=2993068
Over a year later since my last blog, and I am heavier than I was then. I want to ask what the hell happened. But I know I don't have an answer to that. So on to my next thing. My new goals!

  2. Labor day (down another 8 lbs- 210)
  3. Halloween (Be under 200)

  5. Christmas (maintain my thanksgiving weight)
  6. Courtney's Birthday (down another 5 lbs)
  7. Valentine's day (down another 10 lbs)
  8. Tim's wedding ( down another 5 lbs- to meet my goal)
Weekly goals: Lose 2 lbs a week by drinking enough water, eating with-in my calorie limit, and exercising at least once a day for 5 days a week

Daily goals: Today's goal is to cook dinner, go for a walk with my husband, and maybe get in a Wii workout before bed.

Tomorrow's goal: log my calories in sparkpeople (staying under 1500), drinking 64 oz of water, and getting some exercise.
